This file contains 15 pages (5 three-page sets) of subtraction fluency drills for use with your kindergarteners or first graders. Each set includes three sheets with related art that somewhat tells a story (for the fun of progressing through the drills.) Each student's goal is to beat their own score within the set of drills. These sets are of varying difficulty, starting with using dots to X out. There is a direction sheet for a suggestion of how to implement them in your classroom.
Basically, you copy the sets as packets and each time your students do a drill, their goal is to beat THEIR score on the previous drill. Use a sand timer or other timer so that the same amount of time is used each time you do the drill. The kids love to see their progress. I give a set of 3 in a week, having time to practice in between drills. The themes of these drills include: racing, hiking, camping, ocean and lemonade
The pages can also be used as subtraction practice!
Please see my several other listings for Kindergarten Common Core math and literacy items, including a 50 pages pack of addition/subtraction drills to get you through the entire year!
