This set of story problems provides a way for students to apply new knowledge of basic subtraction facts.
Students are responsible for reading the problem, which has numerical amounts written in word form to reinforce this word recognition. They use manipulatives to set up the original amount and draw that number of items in the first box, crossing out the number of items taken away. They draw the number of items left in the second box and write the subtraction fact below.
I print these pages front to back and make a handy little review packet! Great for visual learners who prefer to use manipulatives.
