Subtraction Animal Action Includes:
Strategy Posters, Thinking Maps, Work Mats, and Practice for Two-Digit Subtraction With and Without Regrouping
These strategies and work mats are intended as introductory materials for you to teach subtractions to your students, using hands-on materials and many ways of thinking about subtraction. In some cases, the work mats need to be reproduced at 100% and take up the entire letter-sized paper in order to work with standard-sized counters (two-colored or bingo chips) and base ten blocks. In these cases, I have not provided practice problems, because these mats can be used with virtually any two-digit math problem. For other strategies, I have provided a few practice problems for you to get started using right away. This is not intended to be a full unit of instruction, but is a basis for your subtraction teaching unit.
