Subtraction Task Cards
Subtraction Task Cards - Two Digit Subtraction with Regrouping
This product includes 80 task cards meant to provide practice in 2 digit subtraction with regrouping in classrooms that have introduced the concept(s) for the first time. The questions in these task cards span concepts relating to subtraction at grades 1 and 2, and additive review in grade 3. This set is meant to be split up for differentiation, and ultimately combined for review. I hope you find the range of skills covered beneficial to your students.
-Rewriting a horizontal subtraction problem into the traditional, vertical, written algorithm
-Determining whether regrouping is necessary
-Recalling which column (place value) should be subtracted first (to realize, with practice, that it should be the ones place)

-Counting on to solve challenging subtraction facts
-Answering the question, "Which number is bigger?" (To realize that we mean quantitatively, not physically.)
-2 digit minus 1 digit subtraction with regrouping arithmetic cards

Use these task cards as a partner activity during math daily 3, BUILD math, math centers, or any guided math management system. Copy and use these task cards, also, as exit tickets to formatively assess student growth.
