This is a work mat that can be used with manipulatives in a center for children to practice solving subtraction equations.
Equation cards include subtraction equations through 10.
-Students place 10 counters (chips, bears, etc.) at the top of the work mat. They choose an equation card and place in the spot on the work mat, then count out counters. They remove the appropriate amount and put in the "take away" cup.
Then students place the correct answer in the answer box.
-This center should be copied on cardstock and laminated for durability as students manipulate the games. I suggest using a different color cardstock for the equation and answer cards so that it is easily sortable.
This is a great game for students to practice subtraction independently in a hands on manner!
