I just started teaching math this year using the Math Daily 3 workshop outline. With this, teachers are asked to create 10-15 minute mini lessons for each day before the allow the students to go off on their own into their center activities. These mini lessons can be anything from showing a new strategy and doing a few example problems, to creating word problems with the class.
Believe it or not, I was finding it very difficult to find things to do in this small amount of time that i liked and that worked.
So, I decided that I would put my creativity to the job and I thought about making small power point presentations just for this purpose.
This ppt goes with the unit we are working on currently which is subtraction with regrouping. This is just for 1 days of lessons. I will continue to make more as I go along, but I am very excited to have it all ready to go in a nice, pretty presentation!
If you are in the market for something like this for your Daily 3, check it out!
