Description
Do your students need practice blending CVC words?
Successive blending is a great strategy for moving kids from sound by sound decoding to reading whole words automatically.
After explicitly teaching students how to do successive blending, use these mats for guided practice or independent practice at a literacy center.
To teach successive blending, show students to touch and say the first sound, then say the first two sounds together, then add on the last sound.
Ex) /c/, /ca/, cat.
There are 5 pages for each short vowel and 3 for -an/-am.
Stay tuned for consonant blends!
