Use these materials to understand and explicitly teach the varying sounds and spelling patterns of suffix -ed. This set includes 2 charts: one for teaching the Sounds of -ed and another for teaching the Spelling Rules for -ed. There are a total of 90 word cards: 54 cards for the sound rules of -ed and 36 cards for teaching the spelling rules. There are also 3 Sound Mats along with instructions on how to use the materials.
Students can visually see the rules for sounding out -ed with the help of the Sound Chart. They can then practice reading the word cards, and placing them on the correct sound mat.
