The suffix –ed is a tricky one for kids, especially since it makes 3 different distinct sounds: “t”, “d”, and “id”. It is mutually important for beginning readers to read through the word to the end. Kids will often forget the endings or read them incorrectly. This is an introduction for kids, especially beginning readers. After you have taught the whole group, the set can serve as part of a literacy center. This is engaging and interactive!
