This simple, easy game is a wonderful way to give your students practice decoding words with -ing and -ed suffixes. This game includes only base words containing up to two closed syllables (including Wild Old Words closed syllable exceptions), so it is controlled to align with a phonics scope and sequence.
The game cards are arranged by suffix; page one is all -ing words, page two is all words with -ed saying /id/, page three has -ed says /d/ words, and page four is all -ed says /t/ words, so that you can customize as you teach additional sounds.
I have successfully used this game in both one-on-one Orton0-Gillingham tutoring sessions and in small-group reading intervention classes. I hope your students can enjoy it, too!
