The four bingo games included in this set are based on vocabulary for the book "Sugar Changed the World". The games are split into vocabulary from the four sections of the book. A word document with the vocabulary words and definitions is included in the packet.
To prepare for the bingo game, print the word document. I usually put it on my clipboard. Hand out the bingo cards to your students. There are 30 different bingo cards for each game. Open the slideshow and show the students the first definition. Students look for the vocabulary word on their bingo card that matches the definition shown. There are more words than spaces on the card, so not every child will have the answer. I place a mark next to the word on my clipboard and move to the next slide. Keep going until someone gets a bingo.
Since there are 35 vocabulary words for each bingo game, you can play multiple games. I start with a straight line and tell the kids not to clear their board when someone bingos. You can then move on to 4 corners, the letter X, or a picture frame, and finally blackout.
This is a fun way to encourage your students to utilize their vocabulary words and keeps them actively engaged.
If you have a lot of ESL or 504/SPED students, you can put the students in pairs. When I pair the students, if one of them bingos, they both win the game. This allows for discussion and participation from all students.
I hope your student enjoy the activities!
