I created this to go with Women's History Month, but you could really use it any time during the year! It's set up as an "Around the Room" activity, but you could also use it as a center:
Print and laminate the cards for durability.
Hang around the room for students to find OR place cards together in a center for students.
Duplicate answer sheets for students.
Students look at the clues on the recording sheet and find the card that matches the clue. They then write down the name of the woman for whom it matches.
Extra Ideas: Use the cards as a stepping stone to get students interested in famous women from history, past and present. Have books available about these women, and others, for students to look and read through. Your librarian is a great resource for this!
Plan a display of books and articles about these women. If your school subscribes, Brain Pop is a great resource for more information about these women! Some movies are free if you don’t subscribe.
This is also a good close to a unit on women’s history as well!
