This is a 33 slide power point unit that teaches students how to determine the important and unimportant information when reading expository (nonfiction) text. Students will learn why this is an important strategy and see how it is applied.
Following the introduction there is a modeled, shared and guided lesson to work on summarizing, note-taking, and identifying the main idea. There are three note-making printables to use during the presentation to keep students focused and on task.
