Bundle Description
Summarizing Fiction Bundle of Activities: This bundle of four products uses the ice cream sundae analogy to teach students how to summarize fiction. Students are taught that a good summary should include:
-characters & settings (banana halves)
-beginning (scoop of ice cream )
-problem (topping on the 1st ice cream scoop)
-middle (scoop of ice cream )
-events related to the problem (topping on the 2nd ice cream scoop)
-end (scoop of ice cream)
-solution to the problem (topping on the 3rd ice cream scoop)
-theme (cherry on top)

****PLEASE NOTE!!!***** YOU WILL NEED THE BOOK "Sideways Stories from Wayside School" by Louis Sachar IN ORDER TO PROGRESS THROUGH THE FINAL TEN SLIDES OF THIS POWERPOINT! (You will read three very short chapters to your students, and then students will apply the skills they learned earlier in the PowerPoint to summarize the chapter!)

**Also, the PowerPoint cannot be edited due to the copyright requirements made by the contributing artists (clip art, font, backgrounds).
