★ Introduction: Students will read (or hear) summaries about popular movies/stories. They must use the information provided to name the movie/story. This will help illustrate the importance of the key pieces of information needed. Can students identify the key pieces using the visual?
★ Summarizing Graphic Organizer: Use this to teach and to practice organizing for writing/telling summaries.
★ Summarizing Practice: This includes a short story to practice using the graphic organizer and then writing/telling a summary. Comprehension question cards are included to use with any motivating game, activity, or drill.
