Product Description
Why Should we be active readers and summarize the problem before we solve it?
We need to understand what we are reading so it’s easier to find the FACTS we need to solve the problem.
It might helps us better understand more about the QUESTION in the problem.
Reading the problem before we solve it helps us activate background knowledge that may be used to SOLVE the problem.
It also helps us determine which method we need to use to SOLVE the problem.
Summarizing what we read will help us EVALUATE our problem after we solve it to see if our answer makes sense.
Most importantly, if we summarize the problem first, we are less likely to miss important information (FACTS) that may cause us to get the problem wrong.
This PowerPoint include three parts of a lesson: I do (Modeling) We do (Guided Practice) You do (Partner Activity)
