PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a great tool to help students write a summary. Before getting into their analysis, I like to make sure my students are able to summarize the text. I use this for short stories or chapters in a novel. I created this worksheet because students kept giving me excuses about not being able to write a summary. Now, they have all of the tools and an example right in front of them. That means no excuses. :)

This assignment defines summary in kid friendly language, and has an example of a summary that includes bolded transitions. I also have 3 text boxes that include the flowing: a list of verbs, a list of genres, and a list of transitions.

This can be used with any story as an easy sub plan.
