2-sided foldable; outside is the SWBST boxes, inside is the summary. Print as 2 sided.
This foldable is a great way to help students summarize a chapter or a book. This foldable can be used for grades 2-5 (possibly even 6th).
I used the "Somebody-Wanted-But-So-Then" as an outline. Students answered each of the prompts in the square. They then used the information as a guide to complete the summary which is in the inside of the foldable. We completed one as a class (modeling and guided practice) for a short chapter of a read aloud. They were able to do one on their own.
We used the activity as a way to summarize each chapter from a class read aloud book. They then created a foldable mini-book of the entire book as a culminating activity. Foldables also make a nice bulletin board display!
I made this to go with RL 5.2 (summarizing the text which is at the end of the standard).
Print in Landscape format and double sided for the foldable. If printing straight from your computer, print two-sided short end with the page range of the 2 sheets. The third shirt is more on directions for the foldable if needed.
