Celebrate the end of the school year and practice inferencing by playing a bingo game with 30 ideas for fun summer activities. Students create their own bingo cards by cutting out and attaching 24 choices onto a blank bingo card. The teachers draws a calling card and reads aloud 2 things needed to accomplish the activity. Students infer the answer and cover it if it is on their bingo card. A mini-poster to print and send home has all the activities on it so they can check off or color as they are accomplished. We also have a lively class discussion about alternate ways to accomplish some of the activities, such as helping a parent with the yard work instead of mowing the grass or taking a virtual vacation if a real one is too expensive.
