Don’t let your kids spend their summer in front of a screen. These fun activities will not only get them outside, but will also get their brains working and their bodies moving. Most of these activities can be done with little or no adult help (although a few do require adult set up or supervision). The activities can all be done with common household materials. Many of them focus on nature; however, cards incorporating science, writing, math, and art are also included. The activities are all designed to be fun, but also include some sort of learning component. Some of them will take just a few minutes to complete, while others may take a few hours.
These would be great for any parent or homeschooler. They would also work well for summer school, camps, and youth groups. With 100 cards, there is more than enough for one activity each day. One fun way to use these would be to preselect all the ones you would like your child to complete, put them all in a bin and let your child choose one each day.
These cards will look best in color, but will also print out fine in grayscale. Simply print and cut along the guidelines. Laminate and use them again and again. Alternatively, you could print on cardstock. It works well to keep them in a baggie. Another option is to hole-punch a corner of each card and put them all on a ring.
