Description

Here’s a new version of the ever-popular I Have, Who Has…? whole class game that aligns with the Common Core standards for language arts. Using summer vocabulary like hot, sandals, beach, and marshmallow, your students will listen to two clues and identify a word by using initial sound and rhyme, aka onset and rime.

* Silliness Alert* : Expect lots of giggles to break out when your class is playing this game! Most of the words used for clues are either sight words or easily decoded words. A few are pure nonsense! After all, how many rhymes do you know for "marshmallow" and "firefly"? :) How about "tarshmallow" and "shirefly"?

To accommodate the needs of larger groups, this set includes 34 cards. Just print on cardstock, cut, and laminate, and you're ready to play a fun and engaging whole class game!

1.RFS.3, 2.RFS.3: Phonics and word recognition

1.L.6, 2.L.6: Vocabulary Acquisition

* This activity is also included in Summer School Stash!, a money-saving bundle of eight math and literacy activities, perfect for your summer school program, tutoring, or year-round school.
