This is not the boring way to review some idioms!
The Summer Idioms Cootie Catcher or fortune teller features eight idioms to help with your figurative language instruction, assist your ESL or ELL learners, or just adds some fun to your literacy center. The 8.5"x11" page with the cootie catcher idioms features diagrams with brief text instructions for how to fold the cootie catcher and directions for how to use it.
An answer key briefly explaining the meaning of each idiom is included for convenience. There are three options for the cootie catcher included in the PDF: a full-color cootie catcher shown here on the cover image, an ink-saver partial-color option with just the ice pops in color, and a black and white option for easy photocopying that can be colored by students.
These idioms/sayings are included: cold feet, shipshape, make hay while the sun shines, on its last legs, fingers crossed, back to the drawing board, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and a feather in my cap.
