I know that when we talk about the Summer Slide, many people think of reading but what about writing. As we all know, these 2 subjects go hand and hand. And we also know that if students don't use it, they definitely lose it. This packet was designed with all of this and a whole lot more in mind. It was designed as a stand-alone product to give kids a fun way to practice their writing skills over the summer.
The journal prompts in this packet includes:
-Your Basic Journal Prompts
-Journal Prompts that require students to explain their thinking
-Journal Prompts that include Narrative Elements (ie. Create a Character and tell a story)
-Journal Prompts that require research (ie. Research 4th of July and write about what you learn)
-Poetry Journal Prompts
It Comes in 3 Formats. There is a whole sheet format that can be printed as a whole page or 2 to a page to create a booklet. I have also included a task card format to conserve ink if you prefer to give the journal prompts that way. Lastly, I included journal strips that can be cut and glued into a composition or spiral notebook for easy journaling!
I also included an editable version so that you can substitute these prompts as you see fit.
Please don't forget to leave feedback. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out to me before leaving negative feedback!
I hope that you enjoy them!
