Summer - Math review for third graders going into fourth. My school had great results using these summer activities to reduce the amount of re-teaching time at the beginning of the year. These summer activities are great for students who need short, engaging work that they can do independently without parent support. There are two different versions. One has two weeks per page for less copying, the other has one week per page providing more space for students’ work. Depending on which set you choose, you will need to copy 3 pages per student plus the parent letter or 6 pages per student plus the parent letter. Included are a parent letter and different math activities for 5 days a week for each week in June, July, and August.

★Common Core and TEKS Standards are spiraled through the twelve weeks.
★There are two weeks of activities per page. To reduce the amount of paper and copying, print pages back to back. You will only need to copy 3 pages per student plus the included parent letter.
★The parent letter contains information about the research that shows how much math learning students can lose over the summer break.
★Sum Summer Fun math activities are also perfect to use for summer school math warm-ups.

On the last day of school, students stapled the activities inside a manila folder. They stapled the parent letter to the inside front cover, then decorated their folders and wrote their names on them. They were very excited that they would stay “math sharp” and be ready for the next year. When students brought the activities back completed at the beginning of the next school year, their “next year’s teacher” gave them a small prize.
