This is a summer math packet I put together for my students. I give it to any kids/parents who want one to work on over the summer. It is one summer-themed word problem per day for students to complete on weekdays throughout the summer to keep the math from that previous school year fresh for the next year. This is a variety of 5th grade math skills. It includes an answer key and explanations for students. If students complete it, I give them a little goody bag when they bring it back in the first week of school.
I included two versions I have, because we were shorted 3 weekdays somewhere this summer (gasp!). So one of these has 50 problems, and then other has 47. They're the same, just the one has 3 additional problems. I change the dates every year before I hand them out. The only thing you have to do is change the dates (or take them out altogether), and put in the graph coordinates on one of the problems in August.
There is also a week of 5 problems in July that are related to my birthday. You can keep it how it is or just make up a random name or person. There are a few other problems where I use my name as well, so you might want to put your name in instead.
This could be used as a review of 5th grade math in a 6th grade class as well. This could make good test prep at the end of 5th grade too.
Hope you find this useful!
