As teachers and parents, we know the value of time spent reading. Numerous studies have shown that the best way for students to become better readers is to READ! We are all also very familiar with the idea of summer setback, when students regress one or more reading levels over the summer. Many times students return to school in the fall and are assessed far below their spring reading levels. This is most likely due to the fact that students are simply not spending time reading over the summer.
Because of these facts, I have created this free resource to encourage students and their parents to read, read, read over the summer. Just 20 minutes a day can make a world of difference! My goal is always to get my students to see the value and enjoyment in reading routinely over the summer!
