This is a fun craftivity to motivate your students to read over the summer.
Have your students count the days of summer and set a realistic reading goal for the amount of days they plan on reading.
Record their goal on the goal sheet and attach that many paper links.
As they read each day over the summer have the children rip off one link. As the new school year approaches, they will be reminded of their reading goal (and avoid the summer slide).
This is a great reminder for parents as well. This is a great visual to remind both parents and students of the value of summer reading.
Happy Summer Reading!
