Looking for a way to strengthen your English program and keep your students' reading skills sharp over the summer? More and more schools are integrating a summer reading assignment in their English program.
Here is a suggested reading list for incoming sophomores, including both fiction and non-fiction works. These books are age-appropriate but diverse and challenging. The reading list tells students each book's title, author, genre, premise, and any content advisories, linking to Common Sense Media when available.
It also includes a list of 8 suggested project options for summer reading that move beyond the basic book report. This is a great way to introduce differentiation into your classroom before the school year has even begun!
