This pack is a toolkit to send home with your students at the end of the year. it is meant to help them keep up with their reading throughout the summer. There are plenty of activities in this pack to keep them busy and interested. Here is what is included:
Summer Minutes Log - where they log their reading time each day
Summer Reading Log - where they write down the title of the book, # of pages read, the date, and parent initials
Summer Word Watch - they write down any words that they read or hear that are interesting words or words they have never heard before.
Summer Word Definitions - They write down the words they found in their summer word watch and find the definition, 1 synonym, 1 antonym and the part of speech.
Sunsational Summer Sentences - They create their own sentences using words from their word watch page.
Summer Reading Summaries - they write down small summaries from the sections they read each day, each week, or however they would like to break it up.
Summer Character Analysis - They write a small analysis about the different characters in their story.
Persuasive Writing Challenge - Students will write a persuasive piece trying to get people to want to read one of the books they read over the summer.
Summary Writing Challenge - Students will write a summary like the ones found on the back of books to get customers to want to buy their book.
Illustration challenge - students will draw a new book cover for one of the books they read over the summer.
