Summer's here! Have your students "shop" for summer clothes and fun items that go along with summer. Included in this activity are: 3 pages of summer items, a totaling worksheet where students write what they bought, the quantity of each, the price of each, and then the total, and a short writing piece where they detail what they bought and why they bought it. Essentially, you're tying in ELA with math, which meets the CCSS.
The items that students can buy are: cap, sunhat, flip flops, t-shirts, pool ring, raft, goggles and flippers, bikini, sunglasses, surf board, beach ball, pail and shovel, beach umbrella, beach towel, shorts, beach chair, sneakers, and SPF.
EACH item has a price tag on it. Simply have students add, subtract (from a certain dollar amount), or multiply their items.
