Product Description
Welcome summer into your classroom with these fun math and literacy activities!

Students will gather data about their favorite type of summer snack (ice cream, popsicles, slushies, snow cones, watermelon, or s'mores). They will determine landmarks for their data set, including maximum, minimum, median, mode, and mean.

Next, students will display their data using a graph. This pack offers a bar graph, a circle graph, a line plot, a pictograph, and a tally chart. Students will work to determine a scale that makes sense for their data set. Teachers may assign individual students to work on one type of graph, or ask students to work in pairs.

Then, students have the opportunity to write a persuasive essay about their favorite type of summer snack. A graphic organizer and writing stationary are provided.
