Product Description
I made this activity because I was desperate to have something for my kiddos to independently work on that focused on identifying examples of different liquids and their "best" unit of capacity to be measured with. Everything I always find has to do with equivalents, but my kiddos must know real-world examples before we enjoy the fun challenge of equivalents!! It also has been a struggle to find accurate or close-to examples because so many everyday "liquids" come in a variety of sizes! Ugh!!! Water comes in water bottle size, mini water bottle size, and jug, etc. Then the same with orange juice, detergent, soda, shampoo, etc. Everything!!! So I took a TON of time to do my absolute best to create something my kiddos could practice that allowed them to closely decide which unit of measurement was best for each of my "liquid" examples. NOW I found that there were some overlap here and there with "pint" and "quart". This is another area challenge...it's easy to distinguish a cup from a gallon, but not always a pint from a quart. So you may find when you use these sheets, just as I did, that there may be some that could perhaps go either way. Because some liquid examples could be a pint and half...so closer to a quart, or just shy of a quart. I guess what I am getting at, is its very hard to have an exact accurate examples of real-world liquids...but this activity will give your kiddos a good understanding. Anywho...my darlings really benefited from these practice sheets, and it has really helped build their understanding of the customary units. Hope this aides as useful to you as well! I have created 3 practice sheets. The first one has the kiddos coloring the examples a certain color based on the specific unit, the next two, simply has the darlings cut/paste!

Please note this activity is identical to my themed SUPERHEROES version.
