What did you do on your summer vacation? I walked the Freedom Trail in Boston, visited Martha’s Vineyard and watched whales in Maine. We all like to share our summer vacation experiences with others. This engaging, interactive book allows students to share what they did during the summer while improving speech and language skills.
This story can be used with a variety of students. The book includes several topics such as foods eaten during summer and places visited. For each topic, students have a variety of pictured responses to choose. Students can select pictures of a roller coaster, parade, movie, and many more. Students can pick one picture or more than one. Pictures are then put on the appropriate page. Blank boxes are provided for students to create their own pictures. This books can also be used as a prewriting activity.
I like to create the book during speech class and practice saying the phrases. Students put pictures on the pages and then take the book home for additional practice. Parents appreciate and enjoy practicing the phrases with their children at home
To use this book, just make 1 copy of the book for each student. For students who have trouble cutting, the pictures can be cut out in advance.
A great way to start the new school year!
