At the end of each year, I get buckets from The Dollar Tree and fill with all kinds of goodies for my kiddos for the summer. I have wonderful parents that donate a lot of items such as bubbles, sidewalk chalk, popsicles, and more. I also get books from Scholastic Reading Club that I put in the bucket too. BUT, that isn't all!
During our Ten Day Countdown (also included in my store!) we take a morning and make activities for our buckets. These are math and language arts games and the kiddos cut out the cards to use for their games.
Number Cards (Single, Double, and Triple Digit)
Letter & Sound Cards
Sight Word Cards
BINGO Cards (money, place value, time)
Game Cards - both Large and Small size cards are included so you can decide which size you like. I will probably use the small size to save on paper.
Direction cards are also included that give the kids/parents ideas of ways to use the cards at home to practice skills. We just tape these to the front of the ziplock bag for each set of cards so that they have the directions easily.
Also included is a Summer Fun Practice Pack that is a booklet full of math, language arts, and writing activities with a summer twist. I copy these booklets front back and staple them with 2 staples on the left side like a booklet and it usually stays together better than just one staple in the top left hand corner.
Concepts Included in Summer Fun Practice Pack:
Graphing (Bar & Picture Graphs)
Fix It Sentences
Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives
Creating a question from the answer
Informative, Narrative, and Opinion writing prompts
Handwriting Practice (lowercase, uppercase, words)
Cursive Practice (lowercase, uppercase, words)
Bucket Tags are also included to tie on the bucket - 2 styles for girls and 2 styles for boys
