Teachers love summer, but we can't say the same for every one of our students, can we?? Some students need help transitioning from a school routine to changes that occur in the summer. Still, others find it more challenging to return to school in the fall after the summer break. Using clipart from Melonheadz, Pink Cat, and Scrappindoodles, here's a teaching story for those students of yours who don't want school to end and need some advance warning and preparation for how the summer will be different for them. The story can also be used to help students transition back to school in the fall. Supergirl takes you on a journey from school to summer, then summer to school, discussing the changes and showing your students how to go with the flow!! Designed for students from pre-k (of course you will read it to them) to grade 2. Older students who enjoy the superhero theme might also like it. It's for those students with autism or any student who has trouble transitioning from school to summer and/or summer to school!
Use the color story as a classroom book or teaching story. 8 pages, color (16 half pages). Use the black and white version to send home with your students. Also included: black and white worksheets to help students look forward to and understand the transition! Check out the preview to see the pages and content.
