PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Matches up with 3rd grade common core standards for reading and writing.

1st page: A set of writing prompts to keep students writing over the summer in a journal. Includes: Narrative writing, opinion writing, and expository writing.

2nd page: A set of writing about reading fiction prompts. Students will be: retelling a story, writing about setting and character traits, comparing/contrasting, picking vocabulary out, practicing fluency, writing their point of view, and making predictions.

3rd page: A set of writing about reading nonfiction prompts. Students will be: asking and answering question, finding main idea and details, picking out important vocabulary, using and writing about text features, comparing books about the same topic, and researching a topic and writing about it.

4th page: A page about how parents can help their child with their writing and reading this summer.
