"Sunshine" is a rhythm and movement play along to Hap Palmer's "Sunshine," from "Modern Tunes for Rhythms and Instruments." Due to copyright restrictions, the audio file is NOT included, however, it is available on Amazon. This powerpoint is a visual guide for first grade to help them understand and develop the concept of form in music. The first activity is a listening map guide; learning to count beats and work with groups of four. The second activity uses a movement scheme to reinforce key concepts of introduction, a section, b section, and repeating. The third activity has students reading and playing a one measure basic rhythm pattern on different groups of instruments. This is an activity that we have tried many times in music and the kids always love it, especially the movement section. It is a lot of fun. All music notes and clip arts are secured in pdf format. While this is targeted towards my first-grade curriculum, it would also be great for kindergarten or a very young 2nd-grade group.
