My kids love to play and this game makes learning fun and easy.
The kids read their passage or text and on conclusion they throw the dice once to determine the strategy and again to determine which question they will answer. The kids take turns reading then answering the questions. I then select a few kids at the end of the guided reading session to share what their groups responses were. This really makes them want to listen to each other.
I replaces the super 6 strategy of 'Predicting' with 'Making Inferences' as I wanted the kids to use the questions after they had read the text.
Print two pages on one sheet and laminate the questions. I then used a neck strap so the kids can wear them around their necks (see photos). They hang from my Daily 5 wall and the kids can easily access them when the start their guided reading.
