Students record data and statistics about each of the football teams playing in the Super Bowl and then calculate related averages, percentages and probability. Students graph their findings, make predictions about who will win the big game, and create posters to present their information.
(Worksheet is generic enough to be modified for use during any pre/regular/post-season games.)
Packet includes student directions, tables for collecting/calculating data, and a grading rubric.
**Note to teachers: Many of these averages can already be found calculated online. Teachers can instruct students to ignore them (or that their grades will be determined on their ability to calculate those averages themselves) or provide students with offline data in which averages/percentages are edited out by teachers in advance.
***This is an updated version of the project. Changes were made based on classroom-testing (and typos discovered) last season. Enjoy!
