This is a self-paced/guided activity that gives students autonomy and purpose via gamification. All you have to do is print and display the papers. Students can write their initials under these papers on a whiteboard, or simply tap a paper once completed. Also works well if you laminate and students sign or initial with a dry-erase marker as they beat the levels. Just erase after each class. The level overview works best if displayed on a movie screen, but can also just be printed.
Works REALLY well with plagnets (Plickers magnets) for tracking, but you have to set multiple levels as the same rating. Like levels 1-2 are both "Not Yet," 3-4 would be "Getting There," 5-7 as "Got It," and 8-9 as "Wow!" Here is my plagnets info page: PhysEdDepot Plagnets Page
Your students will no doubt be highly engaged to get through the progressions!
