This form is completed by my students after hearing one of our Super Readers share his/her book with a group. Students are assigned a specific day each week as their "Super Reader" day. They are to prepare a book of their choosing to share with a small group of their classmates. Each day the class is divided among the readers for the day and they find a comfortable spot in the classroom to read. After the reader is done, each person in the group (including the reader) completes a book report. I use the completed reports to assess students' comprehension of the material and I also send them home with the reader as a keepsake of their special reading day. I have seen great improvement in my students' reading comprehension and oral reading skills thanks to the Super Reader program. The report is a half-sheet, so two will fit on a page; this not only saves space, but also paper. I have also uploaded the letter I send home to the parents at the beginning of the year to describe the program and let them know when their child's reading day is; you can find this by searching my name (John Blake) or "Super Reader Parent Letter."
