Do your students need some work on sentence/writing conventions? Do they need to practice recognizing sight words in text? This is the perfect packet to help develop their skills!
Super Sentence Sleuths is an activity designed to help students with writing conventions, spelling, sight words, and oral language.
I use it in my classroom during morning /bell work time or even as a word work activity. The first few times, this activity will need to be completed with a lot of direction…but after that, students should be able to work on this independently. At the bottom of each page, students will go back and highlight a sight word and then have a friend double-check their work and check it off or initial in the notepad graphic.
This 93-page packet is designed to be used with the first grade Wonders reading series (simply because that is the series I use...) so the sight words and phonics skills correspond to what I will be teaching each week through the Wonders program. The packet goes in order from Unit 1 to Unit 6, with 2-3 pages for each week in the series. However, this packet can be used in any first or second grade classroom, regardless of your reading curriculum.
There is also a lined page at the end of this document if your students need more room to write!
