I was searching around for good, meaty activities with synonyms, antonyms, and homophones for my third graders and I was having a hard time finding activities with strong words. So I decided to create a pack to use and it turned out to be bigger than I expected! This packet is a great resource for introducing and practicing with these words. I added in as many "strong" words as I could to help build my students vocabulary. We all know that mad and angry are synonyms, it's time to beef it up!!
Included in this packet you will find:
~Anchor charts for synonym, antonym, homophone, wimpy and strong words
~Introduction to wimpy and strong words and brainstorm activity for synonyms with 10 sheets
~Introduction to antonyms and I Have Who Has Game
~Introduction to homophones and Hopping Around the Room Homophone Activity
3 Center Activities:
~Read the room sort or Center sort with synonyms, antonyms, and homophones. (or could be used as a center sort)
7 Practice Sheets:
~Synonym and Antonym Spinner game
~Homophone sheet- which word fits?
~2 Synonym Sentences Sheets
~2 Antonym Stories Sheets
~Synonym or Antonym?
This packet was made for my 3rd graders but would work for 2nd and 4th as well.
Thanks for checking out my little shop. Happy Teaching!
