This lesson was originally made for 10th grade Geometry for our unit on describing translations of the form (x,y) ---> (x+2,y-4) and the like.
In this lesson, the students have to navigate their triangle through a video game environment to reach the goal by using translations. The first part of the map has outlines to show where the triangle should be moving. In the second half, the students get to choose their own route to navigate the underworld and save the princess!
Also, included in this file is an animated powepoint presentation showing the triangle's path as it moves through the first stage. You can use this to either work the front part with your class or as a way for them to check their work.
I made a simpler version,of the student worksheet, to use with my 8th grade students, so that has been included as well.
Please let me know if there are any changes/improvements you'd like to see and I will see what I can do to help out. :)
