I use this PowerPoint Trivia Game as a culminating activity for the book, Superfudge by Judy Blume. We use it as a book review before the reading comprehension test.
I print out slide 2 ("Superfudge Trivia" game board slide) and laminate it. I use a dry erase marker to cross off the questions that have already been used. I keep this next to the screen so the groups can see what is left to choose from.
I split the class into three groups and give each group a bell to use to ring in, if available use a buzzer system to cut back on the confusion of who buzzed in first. I allow the first group to pick the category and dollar amount.
To open the question, click on the dollar amount and the question slide will spin into place. I then read the question and once a group has buzzed in and answered correctly, click on the "Answer" link in the lower right corner to make the slide spin to the "Answer" slide. After reading the answer aloud, click on the "Back" link in the lower right corner to go back to the Trivia Game Board screen.
The team that got the correct answer gets to pick the next category and dollar amount and we continue until all the questions have been asked.
