Have your students write a superhero story! This is a member of about 55 other activity templates that are based on the Multiple Intelligence Theory. This template uses the following multiple intelligences: linguistic, interpersonal or intrapersonal, spatial and logical. This template was designed as a mixed ability level cooperative learning activity for middle school but if you want the students to work individually, you can delete step one which states the student roles.
It starts off like all of the others in the series with students choosing roles: writer, reader, drawer, taskmaster and timekeeper. The students will read the rubric so they know how they will be graded. They will then answer questions that will help guide them at the beginning of the writing process. They will write a superhero story that relates to the content that the teacher provided in the template. After they are done writing, they will draw a picture of their superhero and revise their writing. Each step includes appropriate time limits to help students stay on task and move along. There is a rubric to help you grade.
