This product is designed to be posted as a classroom display. It's perfect for your superhero themed classroom! CHAMPS is an acronym meant to be used as a system of expectations for your class to follow. Hang this display in your classroom where it is easily accessible for you to manipulate and your students to see. I like to mount each page vertically on my magnetic dry-erase board. Use the CHAMPS chart before each activity to set up your expectations. I like to use magnets for each of the pages to set up the expectations. For example, put one magnet next to “No voices” if you want this to be a quiet activity, another magnet next to “Raise your hand” if you want students to raise their hands to ask for help. As students become familiar with CHAMPS, allow them to manipulate the CHAMPS chart and/or help you “set up the CHAMPS”.
The C stands for Conversation. You will use this to tell your class what you expect to hear during their activity.
The H stands for Help. You will use this to tell your class how they should ask for help.
The A stands for Activity. This will tell your class what type of activity they are doing.
The M stands for Movement. This will describe to your class how they are expected to move around during the activity.
The P stands for Participation. Set this to let your class know how you expect them to participate during the activity.
The S stands for Success. Your class will know that if they follow the expectations, they will be successful.
The CHAMPS system has worked wonderfully in my classroom as a means for setting up behavior expectations! Enjoy!
