In this inquiry activity you build a balloon rocket (superhero) and time it as it 'flies' across a room. you then challenge students to create a superhero using simple materials that will fly in a faster time than yours.

This is a fun way to teach Newton's Third Law of Motion, but there are 2 versions of the challenge included...1 for upper level students who have learned the law, and one for lower levels who are just learning about forces.

Also included is a resource for pre- teaching Newton's 3rd law in a 1 page worksheet.
