I made this cute Superhero themed activity to help my kiddos give me a quick check-in with their understanding of the suffix -ed, and the 3 different sounds it can make. They love it because it is Superhero themed, the clipart is super colorful, vibrant, and detailed...making the sort lots of fun! I have created 6 pages (each containing 6 cards) of ed: /d/, /t/, /id/ (or /ed/) sound-words (there is 12 cards for each sound), star/circle shield headers to help your kiddos when sorting, and recording sheet where they can write the words they have sorted (you can have them write all 36 cards, or simply pick set a number). In addition, I have created a cut/paste activity to also follow-up their understanding of the suffix of -ed; your students simply sort the given words and paste it under the correct header sound for -ed. Hope your students will enjoy it as well!!
***RECENTLY UPDATED: It was requested that instead of including -id, that I also incorporate -ed. So I have uploaded it both ways depending on how you teach the suffix. You will have everything if you want to teach it as: /d/, /t/, /id/....as well as: /d/, /t/, /ed/! If that makes sense. You will see double pages, for the headers and recording sheets, etc...but this is why!! :)
Be sure to check out my other SUPERHERO themed goodies!
As well as my other Language Arts based activities!
