My student's love hands on activities, and I hate to give worksheets because I get bored, so I came up with this twist on the gallery walk:
I arrange my desks into a circle with an even number of chairs on the inside and the outside; with one of the 15 problem sets taped to each desk. Then I give the students 3 minutes to work on the problem with their partner. When the bell rings each student moves to the right. This way they have a different partner each time. I love this because it gives the higher students a chance to teach the struggling students, and it tricks the kids into thinking they are not doing as much work!
Included in this product are 15 supply and demand word problems that require higher order thinking skills, an answer sheet that can be easily graded, and an answer key!
For those kiddos that miss the day or cannot work in groups simply print out all 15 slides on a 6 slide per sheet printable and they are set!
3 minutes per problem should be more than enough, and it gives you some extra time at the end to go over the problems with the class :)
I have added detailed instructions to the product to help when you cannot get to the computer!
